Abstract

PURPOSE: To introduce high molecular weight organic substances, after converted into a lower molecular state, into an electrolytic cell, for removal of the high molecular weight organic substances, by arranging a purificatior using aerobic bacteria in front of the electrolytic cell packed with active carbon.
CONSTITUTION: Domestic waste water from a building is reserved in a raw water vessel 1, and then supplied into an aeration vessel 3 by a pump 2. High molecular weight organic substances in the waste water are oxidized by biomembrane adhered onto the surfce of a catalytic member 4 and removed or converted into a lower molecular state. Thereafter, a supernatant in the aeration vessel 3 is supplied into an electrolytic cell 6 packed with active carbon to separate the organic substances from the water. A purificator in an active sludge process or a rotary disc-type purificator may be used as said purificator instead of the catalytic aerator. A coagulating precipitation vessel or a coagulating flotation vessel may be located between the raw water vessel 1 and the aeration vessel 3.
