CONSTITUTION:A compensating circuit 5 having the reversed characteristics of the voltage transmission characteristics from a transmission wire up to the output terminal of a low impedance transmission line 3 is connected to the output side of the line 3. Then, the voltage transmission characteristics from the wire 1 up to the circuit 5 assume a constant value without the influence of frequencies and surge waveforms are transmitted to a fault locator 4 of transmission wires without producing any distortion therein.
