Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the change in output current against temperature change, by incorporating a reference voltage source to a speciric IC chip at a current switching section and supplying it to other IC chips, in a D/A converter constituted through a plurality of IC chips. CONSTITUTION:An output 39 of a referemce voltage source 38 in an IC chip of four bits' share has the temperature characteristics of a voltage between the base and emitter of transistors (TR)24-27 and it is applied to the base of the TRs 24-27 via a bias input terminal 13. Thus, the emitter voltage is not subjected to temperature change and also the current in resistors 28-31. In constituting four IC chips 41-44 for 16-bit, the output of the reference voltage source 38 of the IC chip 41 in 4- bit including the most significant bit is applied as the reference voltage source of the other IC chips 42-44. Thus, the dispersion in the voltage between the base and emitter of each TR between the IC chips correspondings to 1% of a voltage applied to a ladder resistor 5 and the width of resistance value adjustment can be 1%.
