Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet recording device, which is capable of capturing mist satisfactorily without disordering orbid of charged ink particles, by shielding the electric field of deflecting electrodes by a shield plate to permit the ink mist on both sides of deflected orbit to be attracted by two electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A shielding plate 8, which has an opening 9 for passage of charged ink particles 2 for printing, is arranged between deflecting electrodes 41 and 42 and a recording paper 5, and an deflecting electric field which works on ink mist is shielded by the shielding plate 8. Between the shielding plate 8 and the recording paper 5, two electrodes 6a and 6b are arranged in such a manner as to keep between them an orbit of flying of printing-use charged ink particles, these electrodes are impressed with voltage of the same polarity as that of the deflecting electrode 41 which absorbs the charged ink particles, and ink mist on both sides of the deflecting orbit of the printing-use charged ink particles is absorbed into one side of these electrodes.
