Abstract

PURPOSE:To separate a transfer body from an image carrier easily and efficiently, by utilizing an excellent separation efficiency of an insulating endless belt. CONSTITUTION:An insulating sheet member 6 is stretched over insulating endless belts 10, 10' which contacts across a photosensitive drum 1 and is rotated by driving rollers 8, 9. When at tip 4a of paper 4 comes to an opening part 5 of the member 6, the member 6 is rotates, contacting with the drum 1 through the paper 4, receives a corona by a transfer charger 7 from the reverse side, and adsorbs the paper 4 electrostatically. As a result, a toner image of the drum is transferred to the paper 4. Subsequently, when the tip 4a of the paper 4 which has been adsorbed and carried by the member 6, and has been separated from the surface of the drum 1 reaches the roller 8, since the tip 4a is positioned at the opening part 5 of the member 6, it is not adsorbed, proceeds as it is, is mounted on a guide member 11, and the paper 4 is separated from the member 6 and is carried.
