Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the presence of absence of a man within approximately the same area as the effective area of a lighting fixture by disposing a multiparabola mirror in such a way that each focus is formed on the photodetecting surface of an IR detecting element detecting the IR radiated from the human body, and using the same by mounting it in one piece to the lighting fixture. CONSTITUTION:The IR radiated from a human body is received with an IR detecting element 44, and is converted to an electric signals. A multiparabola mirror 43 is formed of multiple pieces of reflecting mirrors having paraboloids on their reflection surfaces in such a way that their respective focuses are formed on the photodetecting surface of the element 44. A disturbing light removing filter 42 permitting band passage of only the IR radiated from human bodies is disposed on the incident light side of said mirror 43. Such filter 42, the mirror 43 and the element 44 are mounted in one piece to a fluorescent lamp body 1. A protecting mask 420 is provided in a manner as to contact tightly the front surface of said filter 42 to protect the filter 42. Multiple through-holes 421 for conducting incident light beams 411, 412, etc. to the respective reflection surfaces of the mirror 43 are pierced.
