Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare valienamine efficiently, by treating validamycin or validoxylamine with a bacterium belonging to the genus "Flavobacterium" or a substance obtained by treating it.
CONSTITUTION: A bacterium belonging to the genus "Flavobacterium", capable of producing an enzyme to form valienamine by its action on validamycin or validoxylamine or a substance obtained by treating the bacterium, e.g., "Flavobacterium saccharophilum" FERM-P 5707 is made to act on validamycin or validoxylamine, to give valienamine shown by the formula. Properly the concentration of the raw material compound in the reaction mixture is 1W5wt%, the reaction temperature is 20W45°C, and pH is 5W8. Preferably the reaction time is 24W200hr and shaking or stirring is carried out.
