Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit noncontacting and quick measurement and diagnosis from the outside by laying a signal receiving part on the floor sirface where an automobile enters and detecting the electric noises transmitted from oscillating sources such as an engine. CONSTITUTION:When the pressure sensitive type foot switch 1-2 of a signal receiving part 1 layed on the floor surface where an automobile enters is treaded by the wheel of the automobile A, a measurement start signal is outputted. The signal received by an antenna 1-1 is supplied via an amplifier circuit 2 to a waveform processing circuit 3, from which only the required signals are extracted. On the other hand, the data of the engine to be diagnosed assigned by a model screening circuit 4 are drawn out from a reference value storage circuit 5. The reference value and the measured value are compared in a goodness decision circuit 7 via a central control circuit 6, and the results thereof are displayed in a display device 8. Thereby, the engine is diagnosed quickly without contact, and the driver is able to make measurement and diagnosis while remaining in the driver's seat.
