Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent blocking at a narrow clearance between a latent image carrier and a developer carrying member with the developer, by installing at least two developer carrying members and by thinning the thickness of a layer of the developer by changing the rotating speed of these carrying members. CONSTITUTION:The first developer carrying member constructed as the first hollow roller 6 is installed at a location facing to a developer port 5 of a developer tank 4. Moreover, the second developer carrying member constructed as the second hollow roller 7 is installed in parallel to the hollow roller 6. Then, rotating speeds v1 and v2 of each roller 6 and 7 are set to become v1<v2. In this way, the thickness A of the layer of developer to be carried to the surface of the first hollow roller is controlled and the thickness of the layer of the developer is made thinner than conventional ones. Thus it is prevented that the narrow space between the latent image carrier and the developer carrying member is blocked with the developer.
