Abstract
PURPOSE: To decrease the defects produced in a brazed part and to obtain the sound brazed part by controlling the pressure of a brazing atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: While the degree of vacuum in a furnace 11 is measured with a vacuum gage 12, the displacement of a vacuum pump 13 and the gas introduction amt. of a gas introducing valve 14 are regulated to regulate the pressure in the furnace 11. The inside of the furnace is heated up to a brazing material molting temp. in a low pressure (high degree of vacuum) atmosphere, and the heating is maintained for a certain time (until the brazing filler metal melts and runs to the joint). Thence, while the temp. is held maintained high, the heating is maintained for a certain time (until pores shrink) under the atmospheric pressure relatively higher (low degree of vacuum) than the above-mentioned pressure. According to this method, the volume of the pores produced in the brazing part decreases considerably in inverse proportion to the atmospheric pressure.
