Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reliability in the operation of an actuator, by a method wherein one gear out of a gear train is made to be axially movable to operate a switch, in an actuator which transmits the turning effect of a direct current motor as a prime mover to a power shaft through a gear train. CONSTITUTION:The throttle valve of a carburettor is ordinarily opened and closed by the operation of an accelerating pedal at a driver's own will. The throttle valve is also controlled to be opened and closed through a power shaft 7 and a lever which is not shown, by the operation of a DC motor 8 which is controlled by a program by which the throttle valve is to become a predetermined pattern in response to the driving condition of an engine. The proper use of a throttle valve is conducted by ON and OFF of a switch 18. But when the valve is controlled by a program, a load is acted on the surface of an end of power shaft 7, and when the load becomes larger than the tension of a spring 20, a power shaft 7 and a gear 15 is moved to the left direction. A push of a button 25 against an end surface 15a of a gear 15 makes the contact point 24 of a switch 18 contact to a terminal 27, accordingly, the DC motor 8 is able to be operated.
