Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise the stability of the operation of stacker cranes provided on one rail in an automatic warehouse by controlling the cranes while keeping the distance between the cranes at a certain interval without fixing each crane. CONSTITUTION:In an automatic warehouse, plural stacker cranes C1 to Cn are proviced on a rail 2 in such a way as to jointly use the rail 2. In parallel with the rail 2, a housing rack 3 and an entrance 4 are alternately arranged, starting with a rack original point 1. In case where a stacker crane Ci, for example, is controlled, the possible moving range H of the crane Ci is first obtained. The moving range H is a range out of the operating ranges of cranes Ci-1 and Ci+1 but within a place where the crane Ci is located. Then, after confirming the fact that the entrance and the bin which are ready to move are in the possible moving range, the distance from the beginning of moving of Ci to its forced stopping calculated to determine the operating range of Ci.
