Abstract
PURPOSE:To regenerate sulfide-contg. dust produced by the desulfurization of hot iron with a Ca-base desulfurizing agent at the outside of a furnace as a desulfurizing agent by treating the dust with hot waste gas contg. CO2 and water from a limestone roasting furnace, etc. to decompose the sulfuide. CONSTITUTION:When hot iron is desulfurized with a Ca-base desulfurizing agent such as CaC2, CaF2 and CaO at the outside of a furnace, dust contg. unreacted CaO, CaF2 and sulfide such as CaS is recovered with a dust collector. Since the dust can not be used as a desulfurizing agent as it is, the dust is charged into a fluidized bed reactor and reacted with hot waste gas contg. CO2 and water from a limestone roasting furnace, etc. to decompose the CaS in the dust into CaO, etc. S is released as H2S. Thus, the CaS, etc. in the dust are removed, and the dust is regenerated as a desulfurizing agent.
