Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the formation of beautiful paint films possible by increasing the tangential component of force of the centrifugal force acting upon the paint which is fed by flowing, along the inside surface shape of a rim part gradually from a base part to a tip part.
CONSTITUTION: The paint supplied from a paint supply tube 3 flows outward in a radial direction along the curved inside surface of a hub 2, from which it flows in the form of film along the inside surface of a rim part 1 and scatters from an edge 5. If the shape of the inside surface of the rim part 1 is made parabolic or hyperbolic, it turns out that the tengential centrifugal force increasing at all times until arriving at the edge 5 acts upon the paint supplied to the inside surface of the rim part 1. Therefore, the film-like flow of the paint flowing along the inside surface of the rim part 1 is spread uniformly and satisfactorily without causing stagnation. Finally, the uniform thin film is supplied to the bell edge 5, whereby ideal atomization is accomplished.
