Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove the harmful gases and dusts produced during incineration at a low cost by allowing the combustion gas of org. waste to react with alkaline earth metal compounds and treating the dusts and the like in the combustion gas in a steam autoclave.
CONSTITUTION: The greater part of sludge incineration ashes and dusts are conducted together with the combustion waste gas of municipal refuse into an electrical dust precipitator 11 by a flue 24 and is conveyed to a granulator 10 by a conveyor 15, by which they are granulated, after which the granules are subjected to steam treatment in an autoclave 13, whereby they are made into harmless solids of high strength. On the other hand HCl, SOx entrained in the waste gas during combustion of municipal waste are allowed to catalytically react with alkaline earth metals in an incination furnace 1 and a flue 24, whereby they are chemically removed. Thereby, the harmful gases and heavy metals in the waste gas of the incineration furnace are made harmless with good efficiency.
