PURPOSE:To soundly join a copper material and a stainless steel material by high frequency heating the work prior to pressure welding and correcting the melting delay of the copper material. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel material SuS is clamped by electrodes Cu' for conduction of electricity and a copper material Cu by electrodes SuS' for conduction of electricity, whereby both materials are made pressure weldable by electroheating. Next, the butt end part of the copper material Cu is preheated with a high frequency coil Q. Thence, right after the heating, electricity is conducted to the electrodes Cu', SuS', and while both base materials SuS, and Cu are electroheated, pressure is applied to the butt end parts, whereby the end parts of both base metals are pressure-welded.
