Abstract
PURPOSE: To cool an exhaust pipe with running wind and accordingly improve the durability of a muffler by a method wherein the supercharger is arranged at the rear of the engine main body and the exhaust pipe is, from the supercharger, extended toward the rear of the engine main body, being gone around the front of the engine main body and moreover the muffler is connected to the rear end of the exhaust pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The supercharger S equipped with a turbine T to pressurize the suction air for the engine and a compressor is arranged at the rear of the engine E. The turbine T is provided midway in the exhaust pipe 8. In the portion upstream side from the turbine T, the exhaust pipe 8 is branched in two ways as branched pipes 8' communicating to the exhaust ports of the engine E. In the portion downstream side from the turbine T, the exhaust pipe is extended frontward along the one side of the engine main body E and, being gone around the front of the engine main body E, further extended rearward along the other side of the engine main body E to its rear end, to which the muffler 14 is connected.
