Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an image on a scanning plane accurately by measuring the diameter of spot on the straight scanning plane equally with a spot diameter measuring mean and adjusting the position of the point source of light automatically, through an actuator so as to equalize the measured value with a set value. CONSTITUTION:Optical beams from a light source are separated by a beam separator 1 arranged in the optical beams, the separated beams are passed through a sensitive part 4 arranged in parrallel with a scanning plane 5 and the spot diameter is detected by a spot diameter detector 32 (23). An operation circuit 24 inputs the negative voltage corresponding to the spot diameter to an adder 25. The adder 25 adds the input set value to the negative voltage value and a deviation signal drives an actuator 8 adjustng the position of light source through a scanning optical system 21 so that the deviation signal becomes 0. Thus, the optical beams form an image on the scanning plane accurately.
