Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the required signal speed and to make the mechanical recognition of audible tone easy, by transmitting an audible tone signal from an exchanger to a telephone set and driving an audible oscillator installed in the telephone set. CONSTITUTION:When a digital telephone set 1 is at off-hook, a subscriber exchanger 15 transmits a transmission tone code to the telephone set 1. The telephone set 1 transmits a reception signal at an interface circuit 13 to a signal decoder 11 via a signal/voice assembling/decompositon circuit 12. The signal decoder 11 identifies signals and produces audible tone corresponding to the signal with a variable tone oscillator 10, and this transmits an outgoing tone from a receiver 6 via a receiving amplifier 7. Audible tones such as busy tone, howler tone can also be produced through the same operations.
