Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide various switch mechanisms with excellent reliability and safety by disposing in a steering boss an accessory mount for supporting switches which are not rotated to the car body.
CONSTITUTION: A boss 40 of a steering wheel 39 is secured fixedly to a serration portion 38b of a steering shaft 38 by a lock nut 42. An accessory mounting member 53 is rotatably supported on a plain bearing 54 fixedly press fitted into the boss 40. Annular contact pieces 56, 57 are concentrically arranged on one end surface of the mounting member 53 to slidably engage sliding contact pieces 48, 49. Also, to said contact pieces 56, 57 are connected harnesses 58, 59 inserted into holes in the accessory mounting portion 53. Said sliding contact pieces 48, 49 are connected to contact pieces 34, 35 of a spool 32 provided on the outer periphery of a column tube 31 and connected to the electric system at the car body side through harnesses 36, 37.
