Abstract

PURPOSE: To determine the enzymatic activity of a specimen, by adding a reagent composed of X-hippuryl-L-glycyl-L-glycine, hippuricase, peroxidase, 4-aminoanti- pyrine, and hydrogen peroxide, and determining the quinoneimine dye.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid specimen containing angiotensinase, e.g. blood serum, body fluid, etc., is mixed with a reagent composed of X-hippuryl-L-glycyl-L-glycine of formula [X is OH, NH2, or N(CH3)2], hippuricase, peroxidase, 4-aminoantipyrine, and hydrogen peroxide. The amount of produced quinoneimine dye is determined by colorimetry to obtain the angiotensinase activity in the specimen.
