PURPOSE:To reduce the reflection loss of rays, and make a display sharply visible from all angles by covering a specific fluorine-contg. acrylic ester polymer on the interface of a liquid crystal cell in contact with air. CONSTITUTION:The F-contg. acrylic ester polymer expressed by the formula is coated on the interface of a liquid crystal display cell in contact with air. In a field effect type TN liquid crystal display cell, the surface of the cellulose triacetate film of the substrate of a polarizing plate is saponified, after which the ''Daiflon '' soln. of the above-described polymer is coated on one surface thereof and is dried, thence it is calcined for 30min at 100 deg.C; thereafter, the polarizing plate is affixed on the liquid crystal display cell. With a phase transition type guest-host type cell, the polymer soln. is coated on a glass substrate and is provided by calcined or the like. In this way, the above-described polymer film having the intermediate refractive index of the refractive index of the substrate and polarizing plate and the refractive index of air is provided to 600-1,000Angstrom thicknesses, whereby the ray transmittance of only the ray transmission parts is improved, and the display is made easily visible with good contrast from any directions.
