Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a nozzle from being clogged, by arranging a resilient member between a cap abutting against an ink jet head and a case therefor so that the cap is forced against the head by the resilient force to improve the close contact therebetween. CONSTITUTION:The resilient member (a coil spring in the embodiment shown in the Figure) 9 is arranged between the cap 6 that abuts against the forward end 1B of the ink jet head 1 and the case (holder) 4 for the cap 6, so that the cap 6 is forced against the forward end 1B of the head 1 by the resilient force. Thus, the close contact between the cap 6 and the forward end 1B is improved, and therefore clogging with ink at a nozzle forward end 3A can be prevented. If clogging with ink at the forward end 3A of the nozzle 3 has occurred, the clogging can be easily solved by applying suction to a passage 6A that is in communication with the cap 6.
