Abstract
PURPOSE: To suppress the propagation of sphaerotilus which is aerobic bacterium and prevent mold bulking by providig agitators which give only the prescribed water flow near both ends of a partition wall, and combining the operation of the agitators and the intermittent operation of aerators.
CONSTITUTION: Aeration treatment of waste water is carried out by using a loop type treating tank 1, and combining the operation of agitators 4 and the operation by the start-stop of aerators 3. The entire part of the mixed liquid in the tank is repeated to an aerobic state and an anearobic state by leaving intervals for a suitable time. In this way, ammonia is mainly nitrified in the aerobic state and in succession to this, denitrification bacterium groups are activated in the anaerobic state that takes place in the same tank, whereby nitric acid is decomposed. Thereby, denitrification operation treatment is accomplished at low maintenance costs in a large scale sewage treatment system, and the treatment of ≥70% denitrification rate is stably accomplished by the simple operations.
