Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled photosensitive material which is highly sensitive and has excellent flexibility, by incorporating a specified hydrazone compd. as a charge transfer substance into a photosensitive layer formed on an electrically conductive support.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1W50wt% charge generating substance generating a pair of positive hole and electron by light irradiation (e.g. Ce or CI Pigment Blue 25), 10W95wt% hydrazone compd. of the formula [wherein R1 is (un)substituted alkyl; Ar is (un)substituted naphthyl, anthryl, styryl] as a charge transfer substance and a binder such as a polyamide, are dispersed in a solvent. The mixture is coated on an electrically conductive support in a thickness of 3W50μm to form a photosensitive layer. Said hydrazone compd. can be produced by condensing equimolar amounts of an arom. aldehyde and a 1-alkyl-1-(p-anis) hydrazine in an alcohol.
