Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the size of the flame detecting circuit which has at the initial input stage a source follower circuit of an field effect transistor FET by a connection of a transistor or transistor and diode to the next stage of the FET. CONSTITUTION:By connecting transistor or transistor and diode to the next stage of the FET30, the voltage fall in the forward current between the base and emitter of the FET30 is doubled in the apparent value. Two transistors, each having the base-emitter forward current voltage fall of about 0.6v, are connected in series, so that the base-earth forward current voltage fall of the transistor seen from the base 31 becomes about 1.2v. Unless the output voltage vo33 of the FET30 does not exceed about 1.2v, the transistor 32 does not become conductive. Accordingly, the flame detecting circuit can operate stably irrespective of the irregularity of the FET30 and any change in the surrounding temperature. Further, said flame detecting circuit can detect the flame by a voltage lower than a conventional circuit, and in addition, is advantageous in that it is quite easy to connect to other functional circuits.
