Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively remove offensively odorous components present in the air by providing a packed layer with an alkali metal iodide, an ozonizer, a packed layer with hydrogen iodide, etc., a packed layer with an excess oxidant decomposer, and an air supplier for these layer.
CONSTITUTION: The air A to be treated, sucked by a blower 1, is brought into contact with a packed layer 5 with an alkali or alkaline earth metal iodide in a desulfurizing tower 4, where most of hydrogen sulfide, methylmercaptan, etc. are removed.
