PURPOSE:To receive TV signals of the ZB/PAL and M/NTSC systems with simple circuit constitution by switching a video IF resonant circuit automatically by a detection signal obtained by detecting the output amplitude variations of a vertical oscillating circuit due to a difference in field frequency. CONSTITUTION:The output of a vertical synchronism discriminating circuit, which inputs the 1st and 2nd vertical synchronizing signals of the B/PAL and M/NTSC systems and then outputs the 1st and 2nd level voltages synchronizing with those synchronizing signals, is inputted to the terminal E of a circuit switching video IF characteristics. This circuit is provided with a tuner 5, a resonant circuit 6, a video IF amplifier 7, and capacitors 8 and 9, an inductance 10, and a Zener diode 11 constituting a series trapping circuit. For B/PAL or M/NTSC system reception, the voltage at the terminal E is held at a prescribed level to turn on or off the diode 11. Then, the characteristics of the trapping circuit are switched by turning on or off the diode 11 to receive TV signals of both the systems.
