Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent various troubles by providing a controller which once a driving mechanism for a rotary cam switch becomes abnormal, outputs an abnormality signal to stop a press machine or its peripheral devices in an emergency. CONSTITUTION:A driving-side detector 9 which detects the extent of the turning of the main shaft 5 of a press machine is provided facing to a gear 8, and a driven- side detector 11 is also provided facing to a rotary cam 10 to output a digital signal which corresponds to the extent of the turning of a rotary cam shaft 20. Once a coupler 6 becomes abnormal, a signal is outputted from only the driving-side detector 9 and a no reset signal is inputted to a counter 12 at the driving side, so that the number of the counter 12 goes up. Since the outputs of the counters 12 and 13 are supplied to a comparator 17 via an OR circuit 16 all the time, the comparator 17 outputs an abnormality signal when the number of the counter 12 increases and the signal supplied to the comparator 17 exceeds its reference value, thereby sending an emergency stop signal from an output circuit 19 to each device.
