Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent local electric discharge by logically operating control signals to a rotator driving means and a high voltage generating means or these signals and an output signal of the high voltage generating means and performing controlling such as force driving a rotator when the above-mentioned control signals do not coincide. CONSTITUTION:When a control signal V1 goes to a 0 and V2 to a 1 on account of abnormality in a control signal generating circuit 1 or a control signal branching circuit 2, that is, when a high voltage device 4 turns on in spite of nonoperation of a drum, the inputs of an NAND gate 10 are both 1s and therefore the output thereof goes to a 0, and a relay 14 turns on. Then, its control contacts 17 close, and a motor 5 turns on, by which the drum is driven. Hence, the deterioration of a photoreceptor owing to the local electric discharge by a corona discharger can be prevented. Since LEDs 12, 13 turn on at the same time, abnormality is displayed as well. In case when an output V3 goes to a 1 in spite of the 0 of the signal V2, the relay 14 turns on to drive the drum.
