Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve recording quality by forming the shape of light emitting diodes or light emitting windows into an elliptical shape having a major axis in the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:Light emitting window 7 assuming an elliptical shape are provided so that picture elements 8 are formed on a photoreceptor 5. If the shape of the windows 7 is made into such an elliptical shape having a major axis in the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the photoreceptor 5, the distance where the photoreceptor 5 moves during light emission time and the ratio of the major axis to the minor axis are negated, resulting in that the picture elements 8 of roughly a circular shape are obtained. Therefore, the margins between the picture elements is assured, and the recording wherein the connection of diagonal lines is not unnatural is obtained.
