Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the rotational life of the rotor, and improve the quality and the reliability of a rotary-anode X-ray tube by providing bearings between the rotor and a supporting shaft, which supports the rotation of the rotor and to which an umbrella-type target plate is connected, and making the length in the axial direction of the inner rings of the bearings connected to the shaft larger than the length in the axial direction of the outer rings of the bearings connected to the rotor. CONSTITUTION:Two bearings 11 and 12 are provided between the ends of a supporting shaft 1 and a cylindrical rotor 3. The length (l1) of inner rings 11a and 12a of the bearings 11 and 12 connected to the supporting shaft 1 is larger than the length (l2) of outer rings 11b and 12b of the bearings 11 and 12 connected to the rotor 3 by above 20%. Owing to the above constitution, when the bearings 11 and 12 provided at both ends of the shaft 1 are pressed by the spring force of a spring 6, the bearings 11 and 12 are hardly slanted since the inner rings 11a and 12a having the length (l1) larger than the length (l2) of the outer rings 11b and 12b are connected to the shaft 1. As a result, the bearings 11 and 12 rotate smoothly, any trouble of the defective rotation of the rotor 3 is prevented, and the rotational life of the rotor 3 is lengthened.
