Abstract

PURPOSE: To remachine a part where an abnormal condition has occurred and removed a flaw mark formed on a tool at the position where the abnormal condition has occurred, by a method wherein a retracting and returning mode for the tool is selected in accordance with NC information, and such a retracting and returning path for the tool as not interfere with the work is determined automatically.
CONSTITUTION: When an abnormal condition of the tool occurs, a detecting mechanism 18 for the abnormal condition generates an abnormality signal R1 and feeds it to an NC device 17 and a change-over switch 20. With the signal R1 inputted, the switch 20 is shifted from the position for impressing the commond of the NC device 17 on a pulse distributor 21 to the position for impressing the command of a sequential controller 24 on the pulse distributor 21. The distributor 21 feeds predtermined signals to X-axis and Z-axis servo motors 22, 23 so as to move the tool to a retracted position by a quick feed. The tool is automatically replaced, and in response to a signal R5 indicating the completion of the replacement, the tool is quickly moved. The position for starting the machining operation is now deviated from the the position where the abnormal condition has occurred, by an escape amount in the Z-axis direction. After the movement of the tool is finished, a restarting command is given to the NC device 17 in accordance with an operation completion signal R7 fed from the controller 27, and the work is remachined in accordance with the machining program.
