CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recording system (in which 4 is a charging electrode, 5 and 6 are deflecting electrodes, and 7 is a gutter) in which ink particles 3 jetted from a nozzle 1 by a piezo-elecric element 2 are selectively adhered to a recording paper 8, an image element to be formed on the recording paper 8 is made up of mXn numbers of recording dots 9 consisting of at least two colors of hour colors (cyanine, magenta, yellow and black), (and the preferred size of the image element is about 200 microns in length and width). Thus, even when mXn=6 matrix is used, a color image (84 colors) having nearly satisfactory quality can be formed.
