Abstract

PURPOSE:To always watch necessary traffic information by making it possible to automatically receive other traffic information stations when the receiving strength of a traffic information station in reception is reduced a prescribed level or less. CONSTITUTION:Supposing that a traffic information station in reception is a station C and a car moves from an area C to an area D, the receiving strength of the station C is gradually reduced in accordance with the travelling of the car, a signal of an SK (traffic information station index) signal detecting circuit 301 is turned to ''0''. When detecting said status, a controlling device 400 sets up a traffic information station selection stopping flag on a storage part 452 and sends an automatic sweeping command to an automatic tuning/sweeping circuit 201. When the broadcasting frequency of a traffic information station in the area D which has been previously stored in a memory coincides with received frequency and the receiving strength exceeds the prescribed level, a trigger detecting circuit 202 sends a trigger signal to the controlling device 400 to stop the automatic sweeping. The controlling device 400 is mainly constituted by a microprocessor.
