Abstract
PURPOSE: To carry out the recovery of copper nitrate with almost no loss in dispersing metallic copper into contact with a polar solvent containing dissolved copper nitrate, and bringing an unsaturated compound into contact with the dispersed copper to give a cuprous complex, by adding a specific additive to the reaction system.
CONSTITUTION: Copper nitrate is dissolved in a polar solvent, and metallic copper at a molar ratio between the metallic copper and the copper nitrate of generally about 0.2W1.5 is added to the solution. An addition at a molar ratio between the additive and the copper ions of about ≥0.01 is added thereto. At least one selected from urea, amidosulfuric acid, salt thereof, amidophosphoric acid, salt thereof, carbamic acid, salt thereof, ester thereof, alloxan and aniline is used as the additive. An organic compound having at least one carbon-carbon double bond, e.g. an unsaturated hydrocarbon, is brought into contact with the reaction system to give a cuprous complex. Nitric acid ions are stabilized to inhibit the release thereof as nitrogen oxide in recovering the ligand from the cuprous complex.
