Abstract

PURPOSE:To lessen drop in the printing speed with an easier passage of a wire through a space between rows of heat generating resistors by arranging the resistors at a sufficiently small space in the column way while at a space equivalent to more than one column in the line way. CONSTITUTION:Three raws 31, 32 and 33 of heat generating resistors 1 are arranged leaving spaces 34 and 35 each equivalent to one column in the line way to facilitate the passage of the wire 2 to the heat generating resistors 1 through the spaces between the rows 31, 32 and 33. In printing, the heat generating resistors are initially energized to print a half of one character and then, moved parallel in the column way as shown by the arrow 43 to print the remaining half thereof by another energization under the condition as shown by dashed line.
