Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove remaining magnetic toner efficiently without damaging the surface of a latent image carrier by attaching a cleaning sleeve with a cleaning magnet to the incide to which AC voltage is applied close to the surface of the carrier. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning sleeve 13 consisting of nonmagnetic materials is located in the cleaning part to remove the magnetic toner remaining around the photosensitive drum 1 after transfer from the drum 1 and fixed so that the space between the cleaning sleeve and the surface of the drum 1 is fixed in 0.3mm., for example. An AC power source 14 is connected to the sleeve to apply AC voltage. A cleaning magnet 15 consisting of a multipolar magnet whose surface density of magnetic flux, for example, 1,000 gauss and which can be rotated in the same direction as that of the drum and the direction of an arror (c) by the rotation driving mechanism is fitted to the inside of the sleeve 13. Thus, the magnetic toner can be removed from the surface of the carrier efficiently.
