Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve substantially adhesion strength, by subjecting a laminated film of a polypropylene layer and a polyvinyl alcohol layer to a high temperature heat treatment at a temperature of at least the melting point of the laminated layers. CONSTITUTION:A polypropylene (PP) layer and a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) layer are bonded with a modified PP to be laminated. The modified PP is a resin improved in the adhesive properly that is prepared by reacting a copolymer comprising PP or propylene as a major constituent with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride. The resulting film is stretched at a temperature lower by at least 5 deg.C than the melting point (Tm) of the modified PP, and is then subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of at least Tm. Thus, a film that has been highly orientated and crystallized and exhibits enough characteristics such as mechanical strength, transparency, gas barrier property, etc. is produced.
