Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal head having high thermal efficiency and less power consumption by covering a resistor formed on an insulating base plate with a metal material capable of subjecting to anodic oxidation, subjecting the center of the material to the anodic oxidation and forming a anodic oxidation film having a thickness thicker than the other part. CONSTITUTION:Ta2N, Ni-Cr or the like is covered by evaporation or sputtering on an insulative base plate 1, and is then patterned, thereby forming a resistor 3. After an insulating film 5 is then laminated on the resistor 3, aluminum is covered on the film, thereby forming a conductor 3. In order to then increase the bonding strength of the resist, the surface of the conductor 6 is oxidized to form an oxidized film 9, the center of the conductor 6 is then subjected to an anodic oxidation, thereby forming an anodic oxidation film 7. In this manner, the left side and right side of the conductor 6 become a pair of electrodes 8.
