Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a service life considerably by providing a flow passage for passing of a gas for refining and a flow passage for passing of liquid consisting of the same element as that of said gas by disposing the outlet of the latter around the outlet for the gas. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 1 forming a flow passage for an oxidative gas such as gaseous oxygen, air or the like or an inert gas such as Ar, N2 or the like and a pipe 2 forming a flow passage for the liquid of the same element are made into concentrical double-ply pipe construction with, for example, ribs 3 as spacers. The outlet 5 of the pipe 2 is disposed at the periphery of the outlet 4 of the pipe 1, and the sizes of the pipings, and their sectional areas are selected variously to meet the purpose of refining and the geometrical construction of the pipings. A lance of such construction is disposed to refractories 6 having studs 7, and are connected respectively to liquid and gas tanks via control valves 8, 9. The discharge surface 10 of the immersion lance and the neighborhood thereof are cooled efficiently by the gasification effect of the time when the liquid discharges from the lance and the erosion, damage, etc. of the lance are improved considerably.
