Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize the high recording capability per communication at one time for both the retransmission for error correction and the transmission of signal, by providing a buffer memory which is used in common to the transmission and the reception. CONSTITUTION:The picture signal which is read through a picture signal reading part 1 is coded at a coding part 2 to be fed to a transmission frame producing part 4 or to be written in a buffer memory 6. A transmission frame is produced at the part 4 and then sent to the receiving side via a modulating part 8. In case an error of transmission arises, an error occurrence signal detecting part 11 detects the error. Then the signal stored in the memory 6 is read out via the switch circuits 12 and 3 and transmitted again. The received signal receives an error check through an error detecting part 13, and only the picture signal immune from an error is written into the memory 6. The received signal stored in the memory 6 is sent to a recording part 15 to be recorded while it is decoded at a decoding part 16. If the signal remains at the memory 6 at a moment when the page end signal is received at the receiving side, the reception OK signal which is fed to the transmitting side is retained temporarily until the memory 6 attains empty.
