Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely receive an optical signal transmitted in time division from a plurality of slave stations at a master station, by adjusting an optical signal level at the master station to a constant value with an adjusting device of an optical transmitter provided at the slave station side. CONSTITUTION:A master station 1 is provided with an optical transmitter 2a for converting an electric signal into an optical signal and a photodetector for converting the optical signal into the electric signal. Further, a slave station 3 is provided with a photodetector 4b for converting the optical signal from the master station 1 into the electric signal and an optical transmitter 4a having a device for converting the electric signal into the optical signal and for adjusting the level of the optical signal. An optical transmission line 10 consists of an optical fiber cable 11 where the optical signal transmitted and received between the stations 1 and 3 is distributed, and optical branching distributors 12-1-12-32. Thus, an optical signal level adjuster of the optical transmitter 4a provided at the slave station side 3 keeps the level of the transmitted optical signal at the master station side 1 constant and transmits the optical signal to the photodetector 4b via the transmission line 10.
