Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a cylindrical composite casting having thick walled abrasion resistant layers in caliber parts in a simple stage by forming an outer solidified layer by the use of a mold of an assembling system for centrifugal casting and casting molten metal for an inside layer on the inside surface of the outer solidified layer. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical mold 4 for centrifugal casting is constituted by connecting fittings 6 for forming caliber parts and fittings 5 for forming an outside circumferential part freely attachably and detachably with a suitable number of flanges 7, 8 by means of fixing means 9. After a mold coating material 11 is applied on the inside surface of said mold 4, the mold 4 is rotated by rollers 14, and molten metal 16 for an outer layer consisting of an abrasion resistant material such as chilled steel is charged into the mold 4 through a charging member 15 provided to a band 13. A thick solidified layer 16a is formed on the inside surface of the metal molds 6 and a relatively thin solidified layer on the inside surface of the metal molds 5. While the unsolidified metal 16b exists in the metal 16 for an outer layer, molten metal 17 for an inside layer consisting of a strong and tough material such as high grade cast iron or the like is cast, then the molten metals 16, 17 mix with each other and an inside layer 18 wherein both are melt-stuck to one body is formed.
