Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction in the course of reproducing digital information recorded on recording media through an NRZI modulation system, by comparing detected signals with signals having preset hysteresis characteristic. CONSTITUTION:Digital information recorded on a magnetic tape is processed through a magnetic head, an amplifier, and a differentiating circuit, and inputted into a zero level comparator. The output SC' of the differentiating circuit corresponding to the digital information 1 is inputted into the positive side of a comparator 6 in the zero level comparator, and compared with a comparison signal SE of the negative side input. When SC'>SE,an output SF is generated. The output SF is converted in level at a coefficient circuit 7 by a negative coefficient and a signal SG is obtained. The signal SGis added to a fixed reference level signal SH from a reference level circuit 8 at an adder 9 and the comparison signal SE is outputted. Even in the case of information having relatively long inversion section, malfunction caused by dropping of the differentiate signal to zero level does not occur.
