Abstract

PURPOSE:To smoothly process each cutting plane of Fresnel lens pattern by putting a cutting tool into contact with pattern material, cutting said material to a predetermined depth by means of the cutting tool and cutting a vertical plane of a cutting plane through rotating the cutting tool round its blade edge. CONSTITUTION:Pattern material for Fresnel lens pattern is fixed to a work bench and cut it to the predetermined depth by means of a cutting tool 11 which is put in contact with said material. Subsequently to this cutting to the predetermined depth, the cutting tool 11 is rotated round the blade edge of a cutter 12 and positioned so as to put a cutting blade 12b in contact with a vertical plane 14b of a cutting plane, then processing of the vertical plane 14b is performed. Since the vertical plane 14b and a slant plane 14a of pattern material thus follow shape of the blades of the cutter, each cutting plane (slant plane and vertical plane) can be smoothly processed and cutting marks can be prevented from being left on each cutting plane.
