Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent effectively a creaky sound from generating when clutch or braking operation is effected, by forming clearance sections in a friction surface of a friction plate that is to be engaged with or disengaged from a lining. CONSTITUTION:In a friction plate apparatus for example a clutch motor, when an operation lever 7 is pulled in a direction B, a bearing supporter 5 is moved toward a fly-wheel 2, and the clutch lining 12 is engaged with the friction surface 15 of the fly-wheel 2 to start the rotation of an output shaft 3. In this arrangement, a plurality of clearances 21 are formed in the friction surface 15 of the friction plate that is the counterpart of the fly-wheel 2 or the like. As a result, when the clutch lining 12 is engaged with the clutch friction surface 15, though the lining 12 will be bent upon the engagement, the edge 22 at the end of each clearance 21 deforms the lining 12. As this deform can be changed continuously depending upon the pressing force, the same vibrating state can be obviated so that a creaking sound would not occur.
