Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve quality of water, by attaching a funnel-shaped intake top having a downward intake section formed around the circumference thereof and flow regulating boards at its inside to the lower end of an intake pipe so as to increase the suction angle and to thereby enable to draw up bottom water in a water reservoir or the like. CONSTITUTION:A downward circumferential part of a funnel-shaped intake top 3 attached to the lower end of an intake pipe 2 is designed to serve as an intake section 3', and flow regulating boards 4 are fixed to the lower side of the intake top 3. Further, ribs 5 are fixed to the inside of the intake top 3 at proper intervals to increase the suction angle and to thereby enable to introduce water smoothly from horizontal directions. Further, the sectional area of the intake top 2 is decreased gradually from the intake section 3' toward the intake pipe 2 so that the speed of water flow is increased gradually toward above in drawing up water through the pipe 2, and guide plates 7 are attached to the outer circumference of the intake section 3' so as to prevent intrusion of water from a middle layer of a reservoir or the like. Further, a screen 6 is attached to the front face of the intake section 3' so as to prevent intrusion of refuse or the like. By thus introducing water efficiently only from the bottom layer of the reservoir without disturbing water in the superfitial and middle layers, it is enabled to improve the quality of water in a reservoir or the like.
