Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate inspection of leakage of an insulating gas by putting an electric apparatus using the insulating gas in a sealed vessel, together with a balloon-like body filled with air for reducing a space inside the vessel, by detecting rapidly even a small amount of leakage of gas, and then by inspecting joining parts of the electric apparatus separately. CONSTITUTION:An electric apparatus 1 to be inspected, wherein an insulating gas such as an SF4 gas is used, is put in a sealed vessel 2, together with a plurality of balloon-like body 3 for reducing a space inside the vessel 2, wherein air is enclosed is quantity of about 0.3kg/cm<3> g less than the volume of swelling of the body 3. Next, the pressure inside the vessle 2 being reduced, the body 3 is swollen and left as it is. When there occurs any leakage of the insulating gas, it is detected immediately by a gas detector, since the volume of the space inside the vessel 2 is small. When there is a leakage of gas, joining parts 11 and 12 of the apparatus 1 are inspected separately. This constitution eliminates such an usual trouble that the joining parts need to be wrapped separately by vinyl bags or he like and subjected to separate inspection of the leakage of gas.
