Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the measurement of molecules of various kinds possible and also, to perform the stable measurement for a long time, by detecting the absorption of a microwave while subjecting to double modulation to a sample and obtaining the difference between each value of maximum and minimum of an absorption signal continuously. CONSTITUTION:A part of generated wave of a microwave source 1 is supplied to a Stark cavity resonator 4 through a circuit 2 and the microwave carried out multiple reflection in its inner part is synthesized with the microwave sent from the source 1 through the circuit 2 and then, is supplied to a detector 5. On this occasion, an f1 Stark modulation power source 7 and an f2 Stark modulation power source 8, are combined with an electrode plate 30 of the resonator 4 through a coupler 9. The phase detection 11 of each absorption signal subjected to this double modulation is carried out through the detector 5 and the integrated value of both signals is obtained. Further, the difference of these values is found and is recorded continuously and then, the concentration of the gas to be measured is obtained continuously.
